Mission Statement
Our mission is to breed and provide Great Danes of the highest caliber. We are devoted to responsible breeding and are concerned with improving the breed not selling puppies. We strive to breed out genetic flaws and to breed champion Great Danes. We are very proud of our Danes and understand that this translates to our customers being happy. We care for our Danes very much and believe that screening potential buyers is essential to the well being of our Danes and their namesake. We believe our puppies have the right to be placed in long term responsible and caring homes.
About Breeder Karen K. Lovett
Karen K. Lovett has been breeding and raising Danes for over twelve years. She and her husband Johnny have cared for their Danes with the utmost care and have expertise in their raising. Karen is a Mississippi native and has lived in there all her life.
History of Woodson Ridge Kennels
I owe a great big Thank You to my sister and her husband for getting us addictted to Great Danes. Our son talked them into "selling" him a puppy when he was about 12 years old. We were hooked from the start! Cujo was the talk of the neighborhood and was loved by everyone (including Bob, our mailman). Cujo would meet Bob at the mailbox, reach his large head inside of the mail car and just slobber "Hi". Bob was always a good sport, even though Cujo was taller than his car!!!
From there, people would just ask if we ever had any puppies and if we ever did, please let them know. Most local people had never been around Great Danes and just assumed they are mean and ate a lot, etc. Once being around Cujo and then Jake (our next large blue male), they fell in love. This is how it all began!
